Neutral Bright and Airy Nursery Reveal

Before we even started renovations on our home (almost two years ago!) I knew I wanted this room to be our babys nursery. Needless to say, it feels surreal to have it completed and ready to welcome our little guy!

I still havent finished decorating the rest of our house yet but everything Ive done so far has been bright, airy and neutral. I wanted his room to be similar so that it wouldnt feel out of place.

To make things easy I decided to leave the paint color the same as the rest of our house and forgo any wall paper so that the room could easily transition over time. While I didnt start out with a specific theme in mind I ultimately tried to work in a few woodland pieces of artwork and stuffed animals along with accents of light green to give it a somewhat woodsy vibe. That way Lucys foxy self fits right in. ;)

All of the furniture is from various places but Ill link the sources below in case you see something you like. The organizer bookshelf is from Target and the baskets are from The Container Store. I filled the baskets with toys, a play mat, receiving blankets and the Solly Wrap which many of you recommended. I still need to practice putting it on but thats kind of hard to do with a 9-month pregnant belly!

Rather than buy a changing table, we went with the HEMNES dresser from IKEA so that it can transition with him as he grows. Honestly, you cant beat the quality for less than $200. So long as you anchor it to the wall to prevent tipping if/when they decide to climb on it, its a fairly solid piece of furniture.

I was torn whether or not to get a wipeable changing pad or a changing basket but ended up going for the prettier option and buying the basket with a waterproof cotton insert. I figure the basket can be used for decoration later on so hopefully it works out to be a practical decision for diaper changes. We shall see!

The dresser drawers contain a ton of of Cloud Island zip-up sleepers (from newborn up to 6 months), pants, hats, socks, mittens, bibs, burp cloths, swaddles and extra crib sheets. Because I wanted that space for clothes, I also bought a small cart from Ikea to store diapers, wipes, diaper cream, etc. Brandon likes to call it the poop cart.

The closet is mostly filled with buntings to keep him warm through winter, a boppy pillow, outfits (mostly from H&M), the pack n play, the bassinet to our stroller, diaper bags and more diapers.

Im still doing research on cloth diapering but wanted to start out with disposables to make the transition a little easier at first. If you have any tips, please feel free to share them with me in the comments below!

Overall Im thrilled with how it turned out and cant wait to create precious memories with our baby boy in just a few weeks, eeek!
